Home on the Range

December meant a trip to Missouri to visit my family, and it was good for the soul. I knew I missed all my nephews, but I didn't know how much. It was a fast trip, but we got to have our family Christmas. It was like I had never left.

Wyatt must have missed me since he clung on to my leg!

Levi truly was thrilled to see us.

Wade and Chase were ready to eat so they could get on to opening presents. How cute are these faces!

Wade was perfectly content playing with his train on the floor.

Mom and Chase played Rumikub together. They're deep in concentration.

The entire family crammed in the living room. We're a motley crew!

What's different?

Can you see the difference between these two pictures? (not counting cleanliness)

That's right ... We put new pulls on our kitchen cabinets! I know it seems like small potatoes, but there will be no more nails breaking, splitting or pulled back painfully while opening cabinets. The extra benefit is it adds panache!

Home Sweet Home

A couple of my loyal fans have asked me to post a few pictures of Grand Junction and the our humble abode. I have to say Grand Junction is much different than Missouri. You can see that much of the green is man made.

The front of the house and our tiny little patch of grass. The rest of the yard in the front and back is rock. Perfect! John uses a push mower with no motor for our yard and it takes all of 15 minutes to do the yard work with the weed eating!

The back yard with the nice patio area.
The view looking directly out our back door. This is looking east toward the Grand Mesa and the lovely shed the neighbors built. :)
Looking north from the backyard you can see part of the Bookcliffs, which are quite spectacular. I'm sure I'll post more pix of the them later.
Our container garden! John and I picked up some pepper and tomato plants yesterday and we are trying our hand at keeping these things alive. We'll see ...

Domestic Duties

We were in desperate need of vacuum cleaner, so John and I set out to find one and bring it home. John gave it the first spin. He's thrilled. Can't you tell? :)
